Hello Lumio

Wondering what Lumio is? I'll tell you, Lumio is
“The Most Beautiful Book You’ve Never Read”
and let me tell you why. I came across it online last year and was impressed immediately by its clever design for which they won several prices.

In case you are still wondering ... it's not a book ... but it's a lamp!

When you open the cover, just like a book, this is what you see, stunning isn't it. And you can use it on a numerous varieties, check out some of them below.

You can even hang it!

And when it's dark and you open the book this is what you see.

Magical isn't it.
Can't wait to take it into my garden this summer.

If you want to see more of it you can go here and untill the end of March you get a 10% discount when you use the code KAATJECOM10.

Magnolia

I've always been amazed by the beauty of the magnolia and because I'm the lucky owner of two magnolia trees in my garden there are always these moments in the beginning of the year that I have to cut of a branch ... or two. And when a flower is this pretty there also will be pictures, lots of pictures.

They looked stunning on my dining room table in 2016 ...

Also pretty pretty in 2017 ...

And just as lovely in 2018!

As a huge flat-lay lover, they make a great object to be used in that of course. Nothing much needed to ad though, they are more than photogenic on their own don't you agree

All the above is gorgeous of course, but I have to admit. The most beautiful sight is to see them in their natural habitat. Standing under the tree looking up this is what you see and it's pretty amazing every year!

Just a few more weeks and they will bloom again. I don't know about you, but I sure can't wait!

Aqua Culture

I've always loved to see the roots of plants growing and that's why I've been attrackted to the Aqua Culture way. In the past I cut of branches in my garden and get them to grow in water or put all kind of bulbs in the small hyacinth vases. I didn't always succeed though.

Recently I discovered the vases from Kinto which finds it's origin in Japan. I bought these two aqua culture vases online at Miscellaneous from Amsterdam and I love them. Succulents are very easy to keep this way. Let's see if the big one (fern?) will grow as well. At least I can not forget to water them this way, just need to change it in time :)

These greens gathered together makes me long for Spring even more so I can't wait for the mognolia branches to start showing me it's most gorgeous flowers.

Domo Design

For some time now I've been following  Domo Design on instagram and always had a crush for their simple design and colours.

And for Spring 2018 they  launched an outdoor collection as well, the beige is inspired by the earthy colors found in the forests of SmÃ¥land. And how about this galvanized Chair. Simply beautiful dont you think. You can check their website to see all of their products and colour possibilities.

Via Martine

Last week had to empty the attic because we wanted to isolate the roof. An old house = high heating bills and we want to bring that down a bit. So I had a week long working people all over the floor and the roof got a white finish. When I was cleaning up  (sweeping, vacuuming you know) I saw the piece of still unaffected wall and couldn't resist.
Before I knew it I was dragging all kind of stuff up (via the Loft ladder!)

And then began the stylingfun and capture it on photo .
I know, I do some crazy stuff for a photo ;-)
I did get the ultimate autumn feeling
right away when I saw these images.

Meanwhile, all is cleaned up and all the stuff can get back to the attic.
Then there will be no more room for stylingfun ;)
